It's usually caused by a bone growth on your cochlea. You'll have to take scalpel, get in there and cut it out.

I have a weird type of tinnitus called "pulsatile tinnitus". Instead of a high pitched ringing I have "whooshing" sound like I can hear blood or fluid moving to the rhythm of my heart beat. I went to the ENT doctor and they gave me a CT scan, said I had no artery or vein blockages.
So I asked well then what gives? They skirted around the question instead of saying "we don't know". Fucking useless.

That requires to manipulate millions of individual neuron's dendrites to adjust their connections to other neurons, and needs to be nanometer precise. Current human technology is too primitive. Maybe if you get abducted by aliens and you ask them nicely they could fix that.

And don't even think in cutting your hearing nerves or destroying your hearing system. We know for sure that only makes it worse because some people already tried that.

i believe that every adult has tinnitus but most just dont care and arent emotional invested in it. if you focus all the time on it you will suffer and have it in your mind all the time, just like when you always focus on your heart beat.

your brain should adapt to ignore it (unless you have some form of autism -which you most likely do- then you have bigger problems to worry about).

Btw I myself have mild ringing in silence and middle ear myoculonus which is much harder to cope with as my right ear twitches consistently with short pauses. But I can still live on my life.

I kind of have both. It's a ringing that undulates in pitch to the rhythm of my pulse, punctuated with occasional bursts of attenuated hearing coupled with a louder ring. It seems like there is some sort of fluid involved in that part. That's what it feels like. I've started using azelastine nose spray. It breaks up all the mucus in my sinuses and presumably my ear canal as well, so that part has been diminished significantly. The background undulating tone is still there though. Smoking weed causes the volume to increase. I think the tinnitus is the result of some sort of fluid pressure in my cochlea that I can never get rid of.

Only thing I have found to help are doing neck stretches. Literally rotating your head around your shoulders. Looking up, down, tilting from side to side. Done slow and holding for a moment. Several times a day for a couple of minutes. Doing it more frequently or for longer doesn't seem to make much difference.
And honestly while it does help a bit its not that great, just quietens it down for a few hours, sometimes more and sometimes less and sometimes it doesn't work at all. It might just be some sort of placebo effect, I dont know.

Mine's very high and I don't actually hear it in normal day to day, just when it's really silent around. Even then, it's easy to ignore. I assume it's because of all the DJing I did.

I heard this sound once. But I was on magic mushrooms and in a very silent place. Not quite sure if it just stopped the filtering of it, but it seemed like everything heard got amplified until I got to the level where blood pumping is very audible.

>punctuated with occasional bursts of attenuated hearing coupled with a louder ring.
I've got these, but like once a day for 15-20 seconds. Rumours are that it happens more frequently and for longer when your hearing/tinnitus gets worse.
All the best to you guys.

Which, btw, totally happens. That shit just usually gets filtered,
You also can see blood pumping in your retina sometimes. I have at many occasions, no drugs involved.

Interesting. I've been brainstorming of possible causes for years. Everything from jaw disfunction, poor neck posture, to sinus inflammation.

i dont know. research has hinted at some solutions of quieting it down (pic related, microtransponder's vagus nerve stimulation) but it's hard to get something pinned down because there are lots of forms of tinnitus, so what works for some people may not work for most.
