Don't use textbooks for this shit, unironically.
Just look up interesting things on Wikipedia (starting with what you know), and then after you've gained some vocabulary, find some specialized material on whatever it is you're looking for. Psychology is so far-reaching, and not derived from a linear progression of information, it is not a "101 textbook" kind of field.
