Stephen Wolfram is more than double smart the smartest person on /sci/. Thoughts on his career, work, Mathematica, theories on space-time, books in print?

Wolfy's writing style is incomprehensible and boring, but she puts a lot of nice pictures in her books and makes a lot of Computer Experiments. I think I own a copy of everything she has ever published and I just look at the drawings over and over.

I tried to read his blog but it sounds like boring pseud midwittery. I mean there are enough other people covering a broad range of physical and mathematical concepts in depth while being entertaining. But Wolfram on the other hand just endlessly repeats himself and only ever talks about cellular automata. He certainly isn't dumb but he's definitely wasting his IQ.

Yeah, he obviously isn't dumb. But for some reason computer scienctists, and programmers in general have an extremely high ego. They think since they've mastered some dumb language, write algorithms that they've somehow unlocked the secrets of the universe. This gives gives them the idea that they have both the street cred and understanding in being able to make breakthroughs in every other field, like mathematics, physics, or even philosophy or psychology etc.

not buzzwords, accurate identification of how we fit into the logic of space-time. Space-time is a false construct of our minds only.

Nah that's mathematicians who take their maths models of physics and assume them to be the source code of the universe and extrapolatable to extremes.
Examples being
>Singularities exist in nature because our current models say so!
>The big bang came from nothing because our current models can't go further back!
>Space is non-discrete because our current models say it is
>Virtual particles being real because there's a math model that uses them
Despite current models having made some very blatant wrong predictions, demoting them from universe code to mere approximation.

His premise of everything being computable is BS. He himself has to admit this when talking about QM but it's obvious he doesn't really want to accept it.

The truth is Wolfram has a fully loaded diaper on 24/7. He's too busy at his standing desk inventing new Physics and calculating graph transformations to use the bathroom, hence why his diaper is always fully soaked/loaded with shit. He used to just piss his pants on the regular, but the higher ups at Wolfram Research put a stop to it when they had to smell him when he occasionally comes into the office.

It's funny, a mathematician is the one who proved his rule 110 was universal, and he did everything in his power legally to try to stop him. The meme about a Jew being sue happy is real.

He's largely correct though, from a true Physicist's perspective. Computational Physics has a point and a many Applications, but it can be used for things youre not thinking about, other fields you didnt think could be connencted.
