๐Ÿงต Finasteride thread

Anonymous No. 16103308

It has come to my attention that Finasteride works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to DHT, which is the hormone that recks your hair.
Blocking this conversion means testosterone gets used up by another pathway, it gets turned into estradiol, which is the main form of estrogen, through the action of the enzyme aromatase.
This is in fact fully expected. Every single man on finasteride will reduce his levels of DHT, but also raise hos levels of estrogen, specifically estradiol. This gives you man boobs and limp dick.
To prevent this, you should complement Finasteride with an aromatase blocker. This then means testosterone cant turn into estradiol, but turns instead into estrone, which is also a form of estrogen but relatively weak so it is the best outcome.
you need to get blood tests for these hormones before taking finasteride and after you start, to see the effects on all hormones. Too much estradiol? Take more aromatase blocker. Too much DHT? Take more finasteride. Do it until the numbers get to ideal ranges.
This solves almost all problems with finasteride.

>take hormone conversion blocker with potentially damaging side effects to preserve hair
>have to take another hormone conversion blocker with unknown consequences to stop the castration
>have to do blood test frequently otherwise you'll still end up castrating yourself regardless
no thanks, I'll just use peppermint and rosemary oil to massage my scalp

yes, blood tests, i dont think they have to be frequent though. Its a shame they dont sell quicky tests with a finger prick like they do for insulin.

But if you're blocking both DHT and Estradiol, then wont that mean it'll raise you cholesterol? That means you'll have to take a statin as well.

The proposed mechanism for hair growth in androgenic alopecia after botulinum toxin A treatment is that paralysis of the scalp muscles enhances blood flow to the scalp by reducing the tension on the scalp skin. Because the conversion to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is enhanced in a low-oxygen environment, oxygenated blood reduces this conversion and increases conversion to estradiol. This might be the same mechanism by which minoxidil affects androgenic alopecia. The 18% increase in hair count is similar to that achieved with finasteride. How injecting BTX A into scalp muscles could be protected as intellectual property is difficult to see.

Except you forgot a little detail known as negative feedback. When testosterone accumulates and its levels rise above the baseline, it signals the pituitary to stop secreting GnRH, which in turn slows down further testosterone production in the gonads. This process happens regardless of whether you take finasteride or not.
You only get a high level of estradiol when you overload your body with testosterone, for example when taking anabolic steroids. That's the leading cause of man boobs and limp dick.

Anonymous No. 16103669

>>16103555
It isnt just that it rises but that it will transform into estradiol if the path to DHT is blocked.

Anonymous No. 16104953

>>16103555
So whats the problem if testosterone levels self-regulate? That would be a positive, not negative.
The issue here is that testosterone converts to estrogen if it doesnt convert to DHT

correct. OP's "solution" is just more harmful. if you dont like the DHT, you have to either deal with the small estrogen uptick or take a million other pills. i'd pick the estrogen if i gave a shit about going bald, but i don't and you shouldn't either.

where did i lie? you can test this shit yourself if you don't believe me. take finasteride with an aromatase blocker, and the testosterone pathway will be blocked upstream. if you test for cholesterol in both instances, you'll notice an increase.

I waited too long for it to even matter.

I started buzzing my head at 18 and by the time I realized my hair was thin on top, half the follicles were dead and dormant.

I say this because 100% of hair regrowth products are snake oil. Once the follicles die, it aint coming back.

no it can come back with very aggressive regiment. first and foremost minoxidil 5% topical (foam preferable) needs to be applied to area daily. minoxidil can speed up growth cycle and also brings blood flow to area. studies have shown minoxidil combined with dermarolling is even more effective than minoxidil monotherapy. and also studies have shown that minoxidil combined with red light therapy is more effective that minoxidil monotherapy. some other topical treatments include topical caffeine, taurine, and even glucose applied directly to the areas.

an ideal aggressive hairloss regimen that wont make you lose your balls and turn you into a tranny would look like:

1.5mm dermastamp twice a week
5% minoxidil foam applied daily
15 minutes of red light therapy daily (preferably with an 250watt incandescent light)
aggressive scalp massage 10 min daily
topical caffiene serum
topical taurine serum
lot of sunlights
diet high in carbohydrates and protein to aid with growth and keep stress hormones low and thyroid function in check, a diet adaquate in sodium to keep aldosterone levels low, a diet high in calcium and vitamin D too keep PTH (parathyroid hormone) in check, lifestyle change is necessary if you have chronically elevated cortisol, moving to a high altitude place like the mountains for a few weeks where there is higher co2 can help reset the system and lower adrenaline and cortisol which will be all helpful for regrowth.

just take the pill once every day or every 2 days and forget about it if you care about going bald, if you don't care then just go bald, easy. most noticable side effects are just Hypochondriacs getting into their own heads

This
I'm 33 with norwood 2-3. I've been doing scalp massages (20 mins every 12h) for 6 months, no fina nor minox, and I've noticed that all the thinning hair became thicker again.
I wish I learned about this and started massaging my scalp a decade ago
All the current explanations about DHT and genetics don't explain why the hairline recedes progressively instead of falling off all at the same time. Or how after stopping taking finasteride or minoxidil the hairline receding speed catches up at rapid speed as if there was never a break

>Testosterone converts to estrogen if it doesnt convert to DHT
No, it goes to the effector organs and gets used up and turned into metabolic waste products. Looking back at the testosterone --> estradiol reaction: the concentration of product produced in a chemical reaction depends directly on the concentration of the reactant. If the concentration of the reactant stays the same, so does the concentration of the product.
Come on guys it's basic middle school biology

That's only in an isolated system, meaning a chemical reaction space completely independent of surrounding factors. Which isn't the case in the human body, where like I mentioned before negative feedback loops exist that reduce the levels of certain substances when they accumulate

Don't put random chemicals in your body because the TV told you to do it "or else".

Get the jab "or else".
Take Finasteride "or else".
Add an aromatase inhibitor "or else".
Do what you're told "or else".

The design of Earth is very simple.

Oh I didn't get it was a quote from a paper.
Hair transplant can't be protected as intellectual property either, yet it is very popular and everyone knows about it. Why would it not be the same with this? Even if big pharma can't gain much from it, all the clinics offering the BTX treatment would make big bucks.

Just take the fin pill bros. I've been on it for two and a half years now and I still have a high sex drive with raging boners in the morning.

Losing your hair could possibly be the difference between you being able to pull an 8/10 and a 4/10, or if you're under 6ft, then a 4/10 and being sexless for the rest of your life.
