Can insects get drunk? I put a wasp into a bourbon bottle with just a sip left and it was mired in the liquor like it was quick sand. He died shortly thereafter.

don't they "breathe" through the surface of their bodies? i would think they can survive water, so maybe this isn't the reason, if it's true.

Consider that you can become drunk and metabolize alcohol through vectors other than direct ingestion and it becomes simple to conclude how it became exposed to without possibly trying to drink it. Either way, alcohol is literally a poison that can kill even a human being no problem, I don't know why you question putting an extremely small organism into a by ratio, quite alcohol dense environment and think it would survive.
