Could someone please explain the scientific perspective on why the whole western world is becoming clinically narcissistic? I have literally met one or maybe two mentally healthy people in my entire life.

There was an error with the simulation about 15 years ago that led to the trend of false psychologists, an NPC disaster (curative) that suppresses negative entropy of the error.

I think it's unfair to blame the end-users for the complete overhaul of social environment; which was a context change that was beyond any individual's capacity to influence
it's not our fault that we've been placed into narcissistic boxes; but I do agree that many people seem to happily go along with it and exacerbate it. Plus newer generations have no idea what it used to be like before
sooo yea we're living in a Dark Age but I think it's unfair to blame the grunts on the ground who, even though they are the most exemplary of this, they also had the least Individual influence [but also maybe a high degree of Uncontrolled collective influence]
Lots of us have noticed but no one is proposing an elegant solution to this yet. On the lookout for something new

I agree that it's not just the Anglosphere and [ex]-Commonwealth countries that are infested by this, even if that's where this most recent wave originated. It's seeped everywhere (everyone chases the mighty Petrodollar, or even without the Petro, the USD is the least unstable)

What's wrong with narcism? No systems or political structure is going to reward you for selflessness or other similar "weak" virtues and there are 8 billion people to replace you with.

I have not had this experience. I've met a few but i'd say it's much less than half of people. Online it might be 50/50, or at least people talk as though they're a narcissist, but people say things online they'd likely never say irl. If you think you're meeting a lot of dickheads you need to do a bit of self reflection and check it's not actually you that's the dickhead and they're just reacting to you being a dickhead. I went through a phase a while ago where I thought most people at the jobs I'd had were jerks but upon reflection I think a lot of it was me being an annoying weirdo and they were just reacting to that normally
