Has anyone from /sci/ fully understood why the brain - the organ that's supposed to make us smartest animals is the one that also can make us the dumbest? How is brainwashing so succesful? It's a very interesting topic personally. What are some interesting books about this topic from top tier brainwashing experts?

Well brainwashing is done by brains, so its actually a showcase of its potency. The fact that the other side can essentially believe something false is also a showcase of its power, just how well it can adjust to about everything.

The function of the brain arises from the act of muscle movement, but the behavior of the brain is very interesting because it made some functions like abstraction or something. The primary purpose of the brain is to facilitate muscle movement

>How is brainwashing so succesful?
The adaptive subconscious perceives several nanoseconds before the conscious mind. Something known as the adaptive subconscious takes what's happening, runs it through a filter that gives it come connotations, and sends it to your conscious mind with the connotations veiled or hidden.
It also allows the mind to automate processes. The adaptive subconscious can take the helm and handle complex tasks while you think of other things
This is known as "highway-hypnosis". Line-hypnosis was the original term coined from factory line workers
Modern culture throws the several hundred thousand year instincts of hominids for a loop.
When the conscious and unconscious aren't on the same page, they might opeerar with different directives. That's how you get health nuts that smoke, abusive lovers who genuinely believe they love their abusive objects and a myriad of strange circumstances
If you unconscious mind sees something it likes, say, boobs, it tags them. If there are enough times that boobs are seen with something, say a certain sound. Then your subconscious will connect them
Lo & behold, the sound will titillating you, even if there's nothing inherently sexual about it.
That's basically how brainwashing works and why it's so effective.
Because most people don't have their conscious and unconscious on the same page
If they are vigorously working in tandem, and hapou to be doing so, you are far less susceptible to be brainwashed

I think a lot of it is just providing someone with the information you want them to see and restricting or removing the information you don't want them to see then ensuring anyone they communicate with is in the same situation or is on your side and will play along. Then that information just shapes their world view. Obviously if you feed someone blatant lies about something they're knowledgeable about it's probably not going to work. But from the dawn of the internet I think it's become clear that many people will believe things with little or no evidence. And if the information comes from the media and isn't against their personal biases then people see it as authoritative and don't question it. If you mean something like Stockholm syndrome though then I don't know
