Pretty good video.
It also covers different grounds.
That academia is a rat race is well known anyway. I'd like to get some and a nice presentation on the money flow aspect of the video.
Ideas not being funded might be a bummer, but then again how else should the game go. I don't see a way around the aspect of academia that it's driven by trends.

In democracy, academia is subset of the entertainment industry. Academics are entertainers, they write books and go on TV to sell them.

Stop being so defensive about your art. This simulation is more about the world. The ideas you have are largely down to the position of all. Unintentional Sharing is a consequence of that. I'd like to see art without flinches if it's coming at me anyway. Plus I don't really watch. I collect images and listen to music.

We are men. If you forget this you end up chasing war for all reasons and there's always a reason unless you're first in some race. You have to try to parley with men and ignore luck to make it most of the time unless you're truly undefeatable. And even then you'd need to take this aspect into consideration.

I don't want war with you and want you to take this seriously. I do however hope to make a successful population, and have good relations with all. I'm very peaceful. I would not want to try and defend myself against you.
And I haven't hacked you. That's a myth.

I preferred the weekly vids to the daily/semi-daily ones.
The latter are just too much to keep up with and are way too reactive to trends. Even just a week of downtime kills most silly bullshit.

I think the grant money was what she said was directing the trends. Basically the bureaucrats at the NSF (or equivalent) are steering science.
Maybe if there was more money for people to pursue their own curiosity rather than a specific thing then things would be a little better.
There might also just be too many people overcrowding the sciences which makes scientists need to employ more r selection (publish or perish) strategies instead potentially better long term k selection strategies.
Maybe we need more gatekeeping to keep midwits out.

that's the thing in science, you NEED to be able to climb the ladder while disagreeing with your "bosses", because of-course that will be the case with someone who understands shit better than people "on top". scientists need a way to do it.
some people can't mentally perform in corrupt setup, and the general idea seems to be that it doesn't matter what you know, or can do, or bring to the table, as long as you're not sucking the dicks your asked your shit is not needed/discarded.
the ones who did do something in spite of this are now "heroes" and "celebrated" but they had a shit life because of shit system and humans, but we now, all of us, get to use their work.
you got something good to offer you need to do it by going against the fucking world

Need enforcers for the prize.
Armed of course, machine pistols in 45cal for with machines, ultralight weight armor piercing rounds with subsonic mags on back (suppressed), and dress unifroms, not combat load, except for cermonies.
Dress-right-dress.
