Is picrel why science has become so stagnant and unproductive over the past half century or so?

One word:

Elon Musk
And
NASA
And
the s-y movement.

Nice try chud, but science had made great leaps and bounds in the field of cutting of dude's dicks and tracking everything you do.

More advanced research takes more money. Money is the root of evil.

>Money is the root of evil.
need for work is, not money. there's enough money for everyone, after everybody gets their share of money we will proceed to die in chaos. because nobody will work anymore, or not enough, food won't come in trucks. you have money but no food. what do?

Imagine being born in like 1970, looking forward to all the possible new technologies, then you're 54 in 2024 and the only new thing of significance is... the le internet. We have nothing to look forward to.

Schizos took it over, and turned it into a new religion.

Trees raised in a BioDome died because the wind weakened them...they had all the "nutrients" and environment but you cant fully replicate the planet without the planet.

(You) helped caused this because hard work validates Truth, games dont care if they get shit wrong.

The search for objective Truth never changes, never will, never can.

Its people finding out their approach to a field has been usurped by a more comprehensive approach that people get pissy over....hostile takeover of academia via superior Science™.

Smart phones, touchscreens in general, biometric scanning, DNA testing, GPS. All this stuff was literally science fiction in the 60s and 70s

I think it isn't only the lack of progress. A lot of the progress is largely inconsequential, a slightly better X often hardly distinguishable from bloat. Plenty was lost. You could fly supersonic until 2003, even if you couldn't afford it, the option was there, and loads and loads of bullshit made everything so much worse. And, I guess what is the most important that the core moved outside the west, to places like Shanghai, or the gulf states (with buildings probably unthinkable a few decades ago), and yes, you can get your smartphone, but it was made in some foreign country.

no it wasn't. touch screens have been around for a long time. the had inertial navigation systems in the 60s & 70s that oriented themselves on bright stars, they were practically as good as GPS, but the optics involved made them bulky. goyphones are an annoyance that only sioytards are impressed by.
you're going to end up very disappointed in a few decades if you go through life expecting that some day some bong bong wahoo technology is going to come out of nowhere and make your life fulfilling. what you want is a nice house in nice suburb or somewhere rural and a wife and children, those are the keys to happiness.

It was mostly a fantasy in StarTrek TNG and for a quite a bit after that. Yes, you could see some demos, touch the buttons, but it was bulky and not practical until much later. GPS was sabotaged early on, and I never really needed it. Humanoid robots will have a major impact. Even now you can find restaurants with (non humanoid) robot waiters, and there is self checkout, but humanoid robots will replace people everywhere.

Navigation was already easy enough without GPS. Map reading isn't a difficult skill to pick up. Inertial guidance systems that used stellar navigation were probably more robust than GPS is, there was no dependence on artificial satellites and I wouldn't be surprised to find out Inertial guidance & stellar navigation is still in use in some cases. picrel probably doesn't rely on GPS for his guided missiles

Mechanical clocks and shit, boggles my mind.

Found a similarity to the concepts in Molecular Biology, how organisms ensure certain things are met for physiological changes, such as aging.

It's over soon, then.

If that is true. Which I don't know.
