My focus is shit. Every day I discover a new way of thinking about life and if I would only meditate on that idea all the time I would be successful. But I always get distracted and go back to old habits and doomscroll and goon and the cycle starts all over. I am simply genetically mismatched with this environment. Or maybe I had a bad childhood and never developed good habits. Maybe natural selection will solve these problems

You don't know how to control your reward cycle. Depending on how old you are there are a couple of things you have to do.
If you are young, channel pain to control yourself. When you do something you don't like punch a sturdy block or tree. This is only the first step, you have to transition to mild behavioral controls.
If you are older you have to start more extreme with drug consumption. Caffeine works as a reward mechanism. Set a single goal every day and don't have your first cup of coffee until you get it done. When you first start, even immediately getting out of bed can be a goal.

You are confusing Thomas Shelby with Oppenheimer. The movie is alright, I wonder why you think it's "horrible"
