Yes, look at tardigrades, they are able to roll up into a ball to protect themselves from harmful heat and cold and can even survive space

this spider is pretty intelligent but its not really microscopic
4 millimeter length?
it can jump
it actively hunts for prey using its superior vision
it has big lump of brain cells for a spider, other spiders have less
when a human looks it into eyes, it seems the spider is looking back

it probably needs a lot of space for really complex things
but you gotta remember a mammal brain has huge areas for smell processing and also touch
both are probably not critical to actual intelligence
vision is I believe really important for gaining intelligence, without it learning is difficult
vision + sound and a capacity of memorizing and connecting things
less important is smell and touch
