>Be me
>Superautist over octopodes
>Favorite animal in the entire world
>Graduated with Marine Bio major and nothing to show for it in the last 3 years
>Get a job at a marine animal rehab / aquarium
>Doesn't pay much but I get to feed octopodes and give tours to visitors to touch the one we have on display
>Octo on display is a huuuuuge female Giant Pacific, about 60lbs
>Her name is Pearl
>She's super curious and adventurous, really social
>Most guests grow to really love her even if they're scared of her at first
>Always sit on the fake grass around the opening of her tank and talk to her when I feed her
>If I'm with other caretakers she often ignores them to grab me from her tank
>When I let her grab my arms and stuff she playfully tries to tug me into the water and turns white
>Octos' skin color is naturally grey-white, but turns red because of their chromatophore cells
>Their skin turns white again when they're sleeping or relaxed
>Mfw Pearl recognizes me and trusts me
>She's my favorite part of my day, and I think I'm hers too
>Feeding her crab legs and smolts everyday gives me purpose
Thank you Pearl
I love you Pearl

I am happy for you. Cute story.
But for a moment I was wondering if I was on the wrong board.
