Why even research anything other than AI/EE when future ASI is going to be able to do your life’s work in 5 minutes?

EE seems like something that will be useful long term. AI/software might become some obscure nerd hobby like the CRT homo freaks on /g/

There will be a hard takeoff within 10 years. It’s not sci fi, your brain isn’t special. Dumb meatbag

Who is going to check for hallucinations? You can't check for accuracy if you don't know the answer yourself.

could easily end up in another ai winter for a few decades as the level of resources required to scale LLMs up outpaces the entire rest of the economy. in that scenario fields like energy and medicine still matter a lot.
even in that scenario AI isn't necessarily a bad career choice, because the LLMs we have now already can do a lot and just learning to apply them better would mean a lot.

Innovation in Computing systems (Chips etc) generally comes from fields other than Electrical and Computer Engineering, mostly Physics, Chemistry and Material Science.

So it's gonna make itself even better in 5minutes? Than I'll by proud of my creation.

t.> AI researcher

Why? Transformer graph networks are pretty neat, but they'll need human help in fight about decepticons, because that's what transformers never do alone.

Are you aware, that EE is first to be replaced by AI, and AI generated on AI chips is going to make better AI than humans? But nobody can design printer that writes your name on cup of coffe yet.

software is always cheap in a sense, because it only has to be made once, and just copied how many times needed. you get easy access to ChatGPT, but it would be way harder if your access needed to be physical, for whatever reason. way harded to afford a robot vs online software. ai will be cheap online but expensive as robot hardware.
EE/robotics seems smarter
