๐งต How long before realistic android?

Unironically how long before we reach the same level of androids as in Detroit: Become Human? I'd say for the ai, less than 10 years but the hardware I'd say like 30 years minimum

At least 60. Sorry boss, LLM's are literally one tiny aspect of an overall AI.

It's going to be less than 5 years. Everyone just needs to chill out, do STEM and robotics and we'll have a utopia.

not gonna happen in this civilization: dysgenics will collapse us withing a few centuries.
used to be 115 IQ in 1880, now 100. Current IQ losses are at 1-2 points/decade. End of this century there will be no place on earth with a higher avg IQ than 90, countries currently relying on once highish IQ nations will regress back to their natural state, and the once high IQ places will regress to a medieval standard of living. Technology will then slowly be lost over the next thousand years.
Perhaps the next complex civilization in 2000 years time will make genetic engineering eugenics to stop this mess.

Look at ex robot, they are already almost there. At least physically.

we can shave this off by 15 years at least. Because we can cut a lot of corners. Say in detrit become human, Chloe (your pic related) was the first design. Do we have full body robots today? Yes, the problem is that we have uncanny valley and the only problem left is more realistic skin. That's it. We don't have to improve anything else to get Chloe. We have wigs, makeup and everything else. Humanoid that move around, blink, talk with AI integration. It's all here. Just uncanny because of the waxy skin. We won't have connors any time soon, but a Chloe is here already.

Yeah well it's all here but I can't go to Costco and buy a discount Chloe so my question is when will it be commercialized? I'd like a Chloe that keeps me company and not just for sex

If you think real pussy is expensive, wait until you have to pay for a whole android. Rentals are more likely and that's just disgusting.

Never. We are already at peak technological progress. iPhones and social media are the ultimate gifts of technology.
People need to stop believing sci-fi nonsense.

I would say it doesn't make any sense to make them. VR will do the trick just fine without tons of garbage, just few little attachments for some physical sensations and we are ready to go.

How far off are we from this? How long to have a "good enoug" agi gf simulator that can mimic all the quirks of a gf?

Silent energy efficient motors are super big problem for some reason, I don't know why. Why can't we make something simillar to muscles? All current robots are noisy as fuck and work for like 30 minutes. Human can walk for like 100 hours by eating a single burger.

I don't think we are far away from it with the technology, but I believe there is very little will and work done to make it happen.
It could potentially destroy our civilization if young people just stopped caring at all about finding real partners.

the kind youre talking about will take leaps that will undermine entire industries. that makes it indefinite, or never
imo you're better off finding the cloning tech they use on celebs or whatever and making your own souless slave husk, at least it will be biological
