Will academia get better or worse as time goes on? If worse, what should intelligent people do?

Intelligent people don't spend their adult years in school to begin with. School is for children. Adults are productive members of society who have jobs and raise families.

DEI showcases aside, research institutions will always hire the 0.00001% most intelligent portion of the population for their research roles. This obviously excludes 99% of /sci/fags which is why I always recommend against anyone here getting a PhD.

as a NEET, I say this, desu.
both the DEI woke nonsense and the simplistic culturebro gotchas seem to be bread & circuses for midwits.

If 99.99999% of their institution is DEI showcases this is probably true.

intelligent people never involved themselves in academia to begin with, intelligent people are able to move on from school and become adults at the same time that they become mature physically.
people who need to stay in school for extended periods of time are developmentally delayed, they're not intelligent

Source?
You can claim it is functioning they way you hope but I don't see how that is necessarily the case.

No doubt, the decline will continue along with the general decline of the western civilisations.

Keep good ethics. You will lose your job, I lost mine twice over ethics, but at least you will know you did the right thing. And somehow things work out. Also: fate catches up with everyone.

the 0.00001% most intelligent portion of the population does not work as employees (AKA hired servants)
