I know it made significant progresses but I think we can go even further beyond cancer and even curing EBV HVB, HVC, HIV, Rabies.

I'm trying to pursue a career in cancer immunotherapy development.
Do I need a M.D and cancer specialization other than immunology related research?

Depends on what you mean by pursuing immunotherapy development.
If you want to do clinical testing for the pharmaceutical companies, then yeah you'll need an MD, and ideally an MD/PhD. If you're just doing the R&D bench research, then no, you would probably just need a PhD if you wanted to lead the R&D.
