is it really possible to be high iq, scientifically literate, and christian (or at least theist)? If you consider yourself one, could you please describe your thought process?

Or for that matter, is it really possible to believe in any non-material ideals like love, honesty, loyalty, virtue, etc? I really dont see how, unless you have some specific "blindspots", or areas where you have chosen to not actually apply your iq and remain functionally retarded. basically any the only valid, non-delysional interal states should be crippling nihilism or physiological gratification

i've gone to a catholic high school and met multiple math and physics doctors that were devout catholics. some brilliant students, too, that while still heavily drinking, smoking weed and having premarital sex, were nevertheless both intelligent and did seem to honestly believe in god. they all had in common that they were from rural areas where people still go to church on sundays. and if you do come from that kind of environment, the church can soothe you, make you more mentally stable and connected to your ancestors. despite all this their proofs of god's existence were not any less stupid.
