1) Stop overthinking it
2) Women much more lower expectations than you do. But still you have to put a minimal effort into your appearance. Cut your hair, trim your nails, shave all facial hair, wear clean, semi-respectable clothes. Don't wear shorts.
3) If you have no experience with girls at all just start simple and say hello.
