The complexity of math Olympiads have gotter harder and harder since the 80s, the problem these math whiz kids ate solving are insane.
It’s safe to say that the top 1% of math researchers today are smarter than Euler it’s just that modern research problems are much harder.

Its easier to be a smartass when most of humanity was illiterate and believed in dumb superstitions. There's tons of people that have the intelligence like Euler today but we live in such an educated and developed world that they aren't so noteworthy.

Not trying to say Euler was an idiot, he was a mathematical genius, but the level of education between his time and our time is like night and day.
