Wouldnt make more sense as such to round down at 5 rather then round up?
5 is the same number of digits to 0 that it is to 10.
Couldn't there be some rather broad implications of just having this as an assumption in math that we accept without reason???

1) its 0.1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9, not 1-10
2) since 0 is a placeholder for nothing we should be looking at 1-9
so yes we should be rounding down at 5.
In most real life cases where rounding would be a detriment we round up because it is not a detriment, basically in reality what is safer always gets done over what might constitute a problem.

It doesn't matter. I sometimes round up sometimes round down depending on which one is more advantageous.
