What are some issues that science has yet to come up with an adequate explanation for or scientists have no clue how to even where to begin. This can be biological, events in nurture, physics, the universe, etc. etc.
For these phenomenon that science has not been able to address do you have any pet theories?
Consciousness is the one I'm most intrigued by.

>Consciousness
if we can define what is a consciousness without resorting to rhetoric and speculations then we might explain the origin of consciousness.
Currently trying to explain the origin of it is like trying to explain why there are no contacts with space aliens... First we have to prove that space aliens exist.

honestly i think its just a lot of pattern recognition combined with a good architecture that allows you to have en inner dialogue, where you can iteratively work on problems using tree-like thought processes in a machine with a feedback loop that allows its answers to influence its environment and thereby its input.

Scientists are still baffled by the massive increase in cancer diagnoses in young people since 2021. While some are blaming climate change, others try to find a correlation with breakfast or too much freedom. The only thing the experts can agree on is that one particular factor (which is not allowed to be mentioned) can be excluded as a possible cause.
