could it be at all practical, or even efficient way to generate hydrocarbons with a mini Fischer Tropsch machine?
could you take co2 from the air, hydrogen from water, put them through a small scale of the process and get a reasonable amount of fuel?
then you could use that fuel inside of a petrol or turbine engine and get power back, acting as a sort of gasoline battery
your only limit of charge is how big your gas tank is

get solar panel + EV, you get more miles for same energy.

yeah but the specific energy of Li is 100x less than gas
for example, there are no fully electric large aeroplanes or helicopters

oh so you were actually asking for helicopters and your large aeroplane?

The Navy and/or USAF have done extensive studies on this
>co2 from the air
It's more efficient to take it from agitated ocean water

Do you include mining, refining, manufacturing and recycling of the batteries in your calculations or is your data fake and gay.
Anyway, the problem, OP, is sourcing clean energy to fuel the production of hydrogen and its binding to CO2.

Yes you can conduct total synthesis of hydrocarbons on any scale. You can do it in lab glassware.
Yes if you scale the process to whatever fits your needs you'll get 'a reasonable amount' of product.
Yes it will combust and thus be suitable for feeding combustion engines.
But why anon ? Why the extra effort with reduced efficiency ?

why push drill bits kilometers into the seabed just to have to hire wagies for one of the deadliest jobs on earth?
