Not a math student so I need advice, What are some mathematical equations or concepts I can learn about to make the addition of non essential ingredients optimal in such a way I get the most bang for my buck in the making of a beverage?

You have to break down the problem into the constituent parts:
>solubility
>shelf-life
>pH
>Texture / viscosity
>Flavor/odor
>Color
>Nutritional value
There are also the larger business concerns like production and marketing, though these are basically tried-and-trued for drinks.
Ultimately, you will have to design testing metrics to determine your drink status before and after a given alteration. The notion of adding non essential ingredients is plain blasphemy.

non essential as in supplementary and certified additives not random nonsense. There is enough theory and rules regarding the addition of essentials but what I am asking about are supplements for whom the only rules present are ADI and food safety regulations that I can work with. So I need maths to make it more economical. But yeah thanks I get your point
