Be honest, when we the last time you guys measured the square root of a hypotenuse?

About 8 hours ago; probably several hundred million times.

>the square root of a hypotenuse
it's the square of the hypotenuse and you're a retard

Anyone here recently found the sin, co-sin, and tangent?

You don't know greek you don't even know what hypotenuse means

yeah recentishly while making a 3d racing game. Just decided to stop writing in python and start over in c++ so am about to do it again.
It's not so much about doing it often but about being very comfortable with doing it when needed personally.

About two weeks ago, I was curious about something that required such a calculation. I don't remember what exactly, I'm always fidgeting with math and numbers, so it comes up occasionally.

When was the last time you solved for X?

Yes, I needed to figure out the angles and lengths of boards I was using for a bench in my sunroom. The bench uses triangular supports to attach to the wall but the height and depth are not the same so length and cut angles had to be calculated.

>square root of a hypotenuse
Never. I usually measure its square, and rarely get the square root of that.
Read Wildberger's book, most geometric problems can be solved in the realm of squares and never involve irrational functions.

Does solving differential equations for x(t) count?
