Why do philosophists always claim metaphysics is more fundamental than physics when actually theoretical physics is basically metaphysics?
Metaphysics = questions about fundamental nature of reality
Theoretical physics = the same but more rigorous and with math
Theoretical physics just takes all the metaphysical questions (causality, (non)determinism, time, mind vs matter, information, etc), formulates them mathematically and explores their consequences. To me it seems philosophers have been cucked out of their former field.

Most philosophers have no education in physics beyond their terrible high school. Can't expect them to know much

seems to me like it's the other way around

this is dumb. you don't know what the fuck theoretical physics and metaphysics are. I suggest you to read some more books before flaunting your retarded takes on the internet.

>dude what if the universe is made from tiny vibrating strings
Tell me how Ed Witten is different from an ancient Greek metaphysicist. Except that he knows enough math to prove that gravity and QFT can emerge from this idea.
