It supposedly happens at the edge of event horizon. Pair production such that one is inside the EH and other outside. The ones that inside is sucked in, the ones outside escapes.
Btw correct your sentence: black hole absorbs all matter flying around "inside event horizon". There are stable orbits outside. Sounds crazy and I don't really give a fuck on black holes they gay af. But this hits really hard to midwits lmao.

Anything but. What you see when you look at... artistic concepts or that one image that is supposedly real is light that orbits the black hole.

The black hole itself is as black as you can get. The only thing it spits is hawking radiation and that happens at an insanely slow rate (much longer than current age of the universe)
