Well, I've been working on explaining this for a long time. You see, there is our 3 dimensional world, and then there is a -3 dimensional world that you can only explain with a 4th dimension that connects beginning and ends of infinity.
The anti-dimension and the third dimension are mixed and blended.

This is a bunch of equations though. What about a mental picture? Why do current spiraling in one direction attract another set of spiraling currents, but repel spiraling currents the other way? What's the physical intuition?

>Why do current spiraling in one direction attract another set of spiraling currents, but repel spiraling currents the other way?
The equations say so
>What's the physical intuition?
The phenomenon itself is the physical intuition

magnets aren't homosexual, why is this so hard to understand?

Ok, forget about the spirals. Two currents traveling in parallel will attract each other. Two currents traveling in opposite directions will repel.
Does the same hold true for electrons moving in free space, or do these so-called "magnetic fields" only exist when electrons are traveling in wires?

yeah it's crazy
how comes both sides of a magnet attract metal but repel bismuth?
yet it is gonna repel and attract another magnet?
that's crazy!
I don't really get why!
what even is a magnet?!?!?!
