Can science explain why many psychedelic users consistently experience and visualise remarkable similar trips regardless of age, gender, background and setting?

For the same reason that water consistently puts out fire or mixing vinegar and baking soda consistently produces foam. If similar people (humans) take similar brain-altering chemicals (LSD, DMT, whatever else) those people will have similar experiences due to similar alterations in their similar brains.
That's the scientific (materialist) answer, anyway.

>same species
>same chemistry going on
>same brain
>same life experiences for the most part
Need any more? We are not that different. If everyone are having same dreams about falling down, everyone can have same trips.

fractals
also, all our brains work on the same mechanism, so if multiple brains are exposed to the same chemicals, why would they act differently at all?
