🧵 I just earned a 4 year degree in Biology. Now what?
Anonymous at Sun, 2 Jun 2024 05:58:18 UTC No. 16205816
What the hell am I supposed to do now? My degree is in biology with an emphasis in physiology/neuroscience. I have no interest in pursuing a higher degree in this. What the hell can I do with what is essentially a biology degree that's "prep" work for medical school when I have no desire to attend medical school?

You either get a masters (which you don't want to do) or maybe you should just become a gym bro and personal trainer.

could I dazzle them with my knowledge of the Krebs cycle? will the fact that i'm currently a fatso because I spent the last 4 years sitting around learning all this made me take up a sedentary lifestyle? Anon please, surely there's something out there for other bio majors like myself.

I'm so far removed from your field, but we're always going to need food, is there anything in bio engineering or agriculture you can venture into?

the main career paths I hear shilled for bio majors are pharmaceutical reps/salesman and water treatment facilities jobs. Surely there's more out there though.

Get a masters and/or PhD, invest heavily in statistics and number crunching, and you can get data analytics / data science etc jobs.

Not more than what your typical bio grad knows (about 2 semesters worth). Chem/Molecular Bio/Cell Bio was more the path for crime lab work I reckon.

Thank you again for granting me the privilege of providing you with a customary blowjob two weeks ago. I was wondering if you had any updates on the status of my application.

you could be a teacher
where I'm at the average salary is 60k meanwhile some car salesmen after 4 years would be making 6 figures.
Maybe you can sell pharmaceuticals?

I know teachers, I have a cousin that told she nearly every teacher has blackmail on them for diddiling a kid, and the blackmail goes to the principles so they only hire kid diddlers. I know for a fact you probably had to diddle a kid. Don't be a teacher OP, instead join the coast guard or other military branch as an officer or go to law school if you can.

biologists can work doing medical and pharmaceutical research, another source of work is doing environmental studies where you end up doubling construction costs of everything to protect the environment. They didnt do that in the 50s.

You can pretty much get any entry-level position in any industry. A science degree means you're competent, and can do assignments as required. It's somewhere between been a grunt and a PhD stud who came up with a hypothesis and defended it before other studs. It's not bad, it's fundamentally good.
here, take this quiz, and answer the questions from an emotional point of view, in other words, find out what makes your soul or inner-child sing with joy, and not your wallet, or your sober, harsh, demanding adult side.
You don't want to have a "successful" career that's worth nothing to you. You ever wonder how rich people end up miserable and commit suicide? That's how, they're lost souls.
You want something valuable to yourself, so that it pays you not only in dollar signs, but in smiles as well:

I hope you're not a bitter, broken, racist fuck like so many of these poor fellows around here, but maybe that's what they're fundamentally missing in the end, someone who cares about what happens to them.
Good luck anon.
