can someone explain to me why the french educational system despite being more autistic, complicated and heavily focused on academic achievements and rigor rather than practicality is still one of the most retarded systems that haven't produced any remarkable innovation in the last century and is dwarfed by the American educational system.

The french education system simply follows the french psychology, which is S-type due to the dominance of the Alpine race in that country. US produces a lot of showelware tho.
The french system is entirely turned into politics and "defense" oriented.
For some reason they love putting a cap on how may academics they can have per year while the rest of the world like China are growing bigger and better thanks to strong education system for the poorest classes.
As long as the state gives opportunity i say like battle royal in the public system for the poor kids to prove they are smart there should be no obstacles for their development since everyone benefits.
it is not the case like this in europe.
Education is seen as privilege instead of right.
