Gravity is not a force. Also gravity is an expression of space time. For our intents and purposes and according to our current understanding mass does affect spacetime. We do not know if anything else does affect space time.

gravity bends the path of light, it does not warp the fabric of space to force all rays into straight lines silly, thats just for ez maths

You've got it backwards. It's not like gravity is some fundamental thing and it has an effect on the geometry of spacetime. Gravity IS the geometry of spacetime. Motion due to gravity is a phenomenon that arises due to the local shape of spacetime. Wheeler said, I think, "Mass tells space how to curve, and space tells matter how to move."
