๐Ÿงต Do you know HOW to solve these IQ tests?

Anonymous No. 16226489

These are the 5 questions on the Mensa test I finished that I didn't know how to solve.
What's the logic to solve them?

The first 2 cells of the row and column are added to create the last cell. Dot + dot = square. Square + dot = nothing. Square + square = dot. The answer is E.

The triangles are flipping one at a time. Follow cells diagonally in a south-west direction. Look at the top right cell โ€“ in the next cell the top left triangle folds over the top right triangle and in the next cell the bottom right triangle folds over the bottom left triangle. So for the bottom right cell the answer is E.

Cells are going south-west diagonally again. Black dots stay the same while the white dots move around the line clockwise like a train. The black dots cover the white dots. So the answer is A.

I don't want to try these because they might affect my results if I actually try the real test.

There are two different patterns while cells are moving also. For example top centre cell is not a rectangle, the two vertical lines move left two horizontal lines move right. Top left cell has two Vs overlapping each other. So answer is D.

Dots and squares in common in columns 1 & 2 are flipped to other side and all else are deleted. So A.

Each figure has a static base of two lines, and two variable lines (colored), one fixed to the top left corner, the other to the top right corner. These lines rotate through three states in 45ยฐ increments, starting out vertical, becoming diagonal inward-facing, and ending horizontal. Pic related. In the first row, the in the first cell we start in state 2, in the second in state 1, and the third in state 3. Each row, the states increment by 1 in a closed 1-2-3-1 loop.

We're getting the same answer, but I'm not sure I follow your explanation.

That's a pretty neat solution. My solution divides each cell into two shapes.

That's the same way I did it. Portions of the first shape go diagonally southwest and southeast. >>16227470 is a better solution though

Columns 1 and 2 are added together. Squares and dots that don't overlap are deleted. The 3rd column is then flipped vertically. Yeah, answer is A
