we're being lied to, and the truth will slowly come out

Turns out cathedrals just aren't that hard to build. Just time consuming. Spend a hundred years on it and you too can carve a giant thing out of stone.

Just because you don't understand something it doesn't make it a lie, dipshit.

they were the equivalent of the WPA for medieval peasants. kings would fund cathedrals that would take 80 years to build to give tradesmen like masons somewhere to work, and when they were finished the next king would fund more. you don't need a huge population to support construction of large projects

Can we make this the official board motto please?

The Leaning Tower of Pisa also took many centuries to finish.
Many cathedrals took several centuries to finish.

dark matter/energy aren't real because... because they're just a big, fake physicist conspiracy, ok???

I love it when somebody writes this unironically. It's like "names are similar, must be same thing" thinking. No, guys, dark matter and dark energy are completely unrelated concepts that happen to have similar names. Go ask ChatGPT.

Why is that even the hill they choose to die on? It's not like cosmology is especially batshit when it comes to "physics things midwits don't understand". It's not even like global memeing where they can claim the scientists have a vested interest in producing a particular result

I think you have to dive pretty deep into chemistry or biology to find a question nobody knows the answer to. But in cosmology they're everywhere. So I think in this sense cosmology is the low-hanging fruit for midwits.

People had nothing to do back then, I know this is hard to imagine for someone as technologically impaired and brainwashed as a modern human, but when you want to achieve a goal and focus on nothing else but that goal then you will get it done, it's like pointing at a 3000 page long computer program and going

Unrelated, but I read that, back then, a "full" day's work was working half a day. Working a full day was two day's worth of work.

Popsci puts out that piechart that has 95% of the mass-energy of the universe as some unknown "stuff" and it's easy to spin conspiracy out of that, especially if you're a religionfag since invisible spooky stuff is supposed to be religion's domain.

it's not exactly a lie, but an issue of census does exists.
India's population might be even 100 million lower than official estimates, so is China's. Pakistan's population is likely artificially inflated to make it look better against India.
Several African countries have absurdly inflated numbers, too.
I'd say the world's population today is around 7,5 billion, not 8 billion.
