Because there's nothing fundamentally wrong with your body when you have diabetes 2, you just pushed your body too hard and as a result need to chill out, quit stuffing your face, maybe leave the house every now and then and lose weight. You can help the process with various chemicals if you lack the willpower to do yourself (which you almost certainly do, no one "likes" being fat). With 1 your body is broken and you can't just give it a hand and watch it pull itself back together anymore which makes the problem much harder to solve.

Because type 1 diabetes functions differently from type 2. Type 1 is caused by your insulin-producing cells being killed by your own immune system, meaning you cannot produce enough or any insulin.
