Exercise increase stress which is bad for your prefrontal cortex to the point it makes it shrink and long term damages it if continued but it's also bad for your health anyway. Physically fit people are always very impulsive and have low inhibition because their prefrontal cortex is simply not working is my theory. Though there's the one thing that could be helpful is walking since it's not an exercise and you still need to move in one way or another.

cardio is hugely beneficial by increasing mitochondrial count and efficiency and brain vascularity.
muscle mass doesn't really have a big effect besides being a buffer for blood glucose, but it doesn't hurt either.
fat is detrimental due to chronic inflammation.
