yes, if we cut down all the useless bullshit sociology major and cut down the number of STEM PhD students and cut down all the fake admisnistrative jobs leeching off grants (more than 50% of grants are paid to those useless leechers, including the DEI industrial complex), we can employ only the best people for PhD. I suggest the cutoff allowed for a PhD is 130-140 IQ. less than that are inferior humans who can't contribute anything taking precious resource from the system anyway. the PhD can get paid a 200k per year on a standard 250k grant and more on bigger grant, rest can go to equipments. with less of the trash getting pumped out every week in academia, we can now do proper replication study for all of them, ensuring the highest quality of research. replication research should also be a requirement and be an auction system where other group can bid to replicate other group research and get paid handsomely for it.
I guarantee you it would fit our academia 100% and make our scientism society prosper but the corrupt and immoral midwits in academia will not ever allow this because academia is such a fat cash cow for them to exploit other people and the public.

With proper leadership, an army of midwits could collectively do many great things. Problem is that both leadership is low quality and a growing percentage of STEM workers don't even rise to the level of being a midwit. On the other hand, weak leadership and lots of midwits is an even worse combination since midwits are better at finding unique and expensive ways to fuck up. Normies tend to fuck up in predictable ways so putting up guard rails around them after a couple of mistakes is mostly effective.
