🗑️ 🧵 How to get off of benzos after 2 years of use
Anonymous at Sat, 22 Jun 2024 05:55:28 UTC No. 16246953
Stuck on 2 mg on klonopin a day and desperately want to get off.
Tried to switch cross over to valium last year and taper form that and it ended disastrously. Ended up reinstating and switching back to the klonopin.
Life is extremely difficult and has essentially become a living hell. Central nervous system has been hyper sensitized and is shot. Experiencing almost every benzo withdrawal related symptom in the book despite being on 2 mg of the stuff a day. I feel like I've been in fight or flight for a year.
I'm desperate for solutions.
I've come across some interesting stuff regarding flumazenil, NAD+, and even considering being put in a medically induced coma in Russia.
Would appreciate any input.

Phenelzine is a GABA-T inhibitor and will allow you to quickly lower the benzo dose and kick the benzos for good. Tolerance to this does is not a thing either. People get relief as an anxiolytic despite being in it for years.

1.5mg for 1 wk
1mg for 1 wk
0.75 for 1wk
0.5
0.25
Then 0.15 every other day for a week
Done. It won't be perfect but that's about as easy as it gets. If you really want to quit it isn't that hard you just do it. Illegal users go from 2mg/day to nothing all the time when their source disappears and just suck it up.

I have never heard about phenelzine. Could I begin taking it even while still on the klonopin, gabapentin, and a beta-blocker?

My nervous system is so fried that when I attempt to drop by even .1 mg I become bedridden. Trust me I have considered trying to do a fast taper but it's like my body just will not tolerate it.

I was addicted to morphine for 15 years and was doing nearly a gram a day at my peak (100x what they give cancer patients). I got clean so many times from my source running out or my money going dry.
It sucks, getting through withdrawals without killing yourself or dying of arrhythmia is tough, but people do it every day. At least on benzos you don't spend 4 days with no sleep constantly puking with no way to drink water.
You can either taper, go cold turkey, or keep getting high and also bitching about it. That's on you. But it IS possible to quit.

It isn't that bad. Imagine coming off of nearly 20 years of prescribed adderall use and needing to sleep for a week straight while also working an job. People get through it, and if you really want to you can too. But you have the benefit of being able to slowly taper over weeks / months, so you're just whining at this point.

Yes. If you're on the beta blocker for hypertension you might even be able to discontinue it since MAOIs lower blood pressure.

How did you have access to that much pure morphine?

I used to buy poppy seeds and wash the water-soluble morphine off with water. 2014 was the peak year and some brands sold on amazon with prime shipping had over a gram of morphine / pound according to gc/ms. It was completely legal too, and $3-5 pound (now 10x as much and they don't work so don't try). Most seeds go through a washing process now and it's very hard to find any that work. You can always just grow poppies, it's natural.

Mind you, this was when you could also buy PCP analogs, 2CB, etizolam, and synthetic cannabinoids in salt form on amazon. Jeff Bezos was the best drug dealer I ever had.

This is not a competition but benzo witha=drawl would win in a competition, if the competition would be about the most horrible withdrawals.
OP, i once withdrew from taking ambien (which is a benzo despite marketing saying it isnt) by going to a psych ward. They did nothing but offered me a place to stay, they gave me mirtazapine which is a mild sedative and antidepressant (sedative is a side effect, nothing compared to benzo) and some other benzo which i refused to swallow most of the time (i would hide it under my tongue). The nurses didnt care and they would not cavity search my mouth or anything. To me, it was stupid to go to such a place to then be given benzos.
Maybe the dose was smaller, maybe these nurses were putting me on a fast taper or something, but i basically suffered for about a week in a relaxed place were i was in pajamas and had nurses to call me for supper.
I didnt get much better but i didnt get deadly symptoms like convulsion fits, had to skip work for like a month (they were very understanding), i still sleep poorly years after and my tinnitus is gone by at least 95%, since it used to be a daily affair, now i feel it like once a month.

Amazon went to shit as a company when he stepped down. All over idiot woman personal stuff. Would have thrown my wife out of the helicopter if I was him. The faggot has a breakdown instead, couldn't handle being CEO anymore, and decided to start fucking a plastic overweight globina. Divorced and ruined and coping now. Hopefully he realizes how badly he messed up, ditches the entertainment tonight reporter woman, and becomes CEO again.

I dont have a benzo addiction but i once almost did.. i got over it by just not taking anymore. I understand its different for others, for many used to high doses they can just get convulsions and die. I didnt get convulsions but i got tremors, i could see these tremors get bigger if i didnt stop.
So... this nardil stuff works or not? It messes with GABA which always scares me as thats what benzos do.

This whole thread is fucking irresponsible. The only correct answer here is that OP should be under the care of a psychopharmacologist who can help him taper off his medication (if he should really be getting off his medication in the first place). All y'all motherfuckers giving medical advice here should be arrested and jailed.

Piss off to Reddit, fucktard, if you want a very controlling no-free speech platform.
If we didn’t hold free speech to be valuable to some high degree, there would literally never be paradigm shift, breakthroughs in science and implicit evolution of knowledge would never happen because everyone is constantly afraid of saying something that goes against ”best practice”.

Very slow tapering down with your doctor. Going cold turkey can be deadly.

Muh freeze peach. Is that really the best you can do to justify giving half-assed made-up possibly health- or even life-threatening "advice" to an anonymous stranger? OP needs to be under the care of a physician. This is objectively true.
