🧵 Fusion delusion

Anonymous No. 16247680

Why can’t science solve nuclear fusion?

Why can’t particle physicists just admit they have no idea how the sun works and are not masters of the universe.

Science has its limits let’s be honest. We cannot make the sun humans have become delusional as they think they can play god.

fusion is possible with inertial confinement but the inputs are larger than the outputs so it's another instance of entropy maximizing process

Physicists "solved" fusion decades ago. The craters in the pacific are all the proof you need. And the solar neutrino spectrum proves just how well understood the Sun is.

We've understood how the sun works for decades. The power density of the sun is only 7 W/m^3 - that's what you'd get out of a compost pile. You need to beat the sun by several orders of magnitude unless you plan on building something the size of the sun. Also nobody working on fusion is a particle physicist.

So if you know how the sun works shouldn’t you be able to make the sun?

Sounds like bs to me.

Why not? Sounds like excuses.

We understand the electromagnetic spectrum very well and are able to harness its power with telecommunications, x-rays, computers etc

The same concept should apply to the sun If you know how it works then you should be able to harness it’s power, or at the very least Replicate it

If you provide the ingredients we can try.
Please enclose two thousand billion billion billion (2x10^30) kilos of gas. 75% hydrogen, 24% helium and some metals. Thanks.

We don’t fully understand how earth works genius. We haven’t even dug deep enough to reach its core.

Egotistical logic, makes people think they are smarter than they are.

Same with big bang theory. Can’t be proven yet parades the theory around as if it is fact. No wonder science hasn’t progressed it’s filled with dogma.

>Why not?
because the plasmas are very hard to maintain under stable confinement in the case of tokamaks, and the other techniques are still in very experimental phases still. However, one of the teams got a net positive energy flow recently, the one in the California with the ultra-powerful lasers, I forget the name of the experiment now. That in itself is a milestone.

Do you have any clue how huge a star is?
The entire problem is that you're trying to confine something, which requires huge masses, down to a volume about 1.5x10^24 times smaller, the main effort is trying to circumnavigate observed cosmological constraints.

the sun has mass
we don't get that option for plasma confinement

>Why can’t science solve nuclear fusion?
Because fusion doesn't actually power the sun and you can't extract energy from an endothermic process.

Fusion is the easy part. It’s keeping the equipment that’s making the fusion from melting that’s the hard part, although isn’t that how you make the electricity? By transferring the heat to a turbine or something?

Fusion has been solved multiple times, but each time government agents destroy the research and kill everyone involved. The powers that be do not want freely available energy.
