hmmm, good question indeed.
They showed recently that there are qunatum effects in neurons, so any type of computation involving neurons, must itself involve quantum effects.

Me again. Would it not be just simpler then, to produce better brains through artificial selection, instead of starting from scratch?

Not a quantum computer. It's hard to keep neurons alive. I don't think we can keep organoids alive for more than a couple of months. Organoids are a fucking meme too. No vasculature means they can't get very big
