>it's le hecking laserino
What is up with the hype around lasers? why are scientists so obsessed with them? like lmao, we invented a pointer and now we can bring attention to one part of my powerpoint slide without touching the screen, what a fucking achievement

The laser is literally one of the three or four inventions of theoretical physics that are truly useful and even revolutionary for our everyday lives.

that's science fiction man. unless you're already posting from Proxima b

Laser is based because the light is coherent and focused. Also the power density is just sexo

laser cutters
Compact Disks
distance measurements, which led to LIDAR
structural alignment and deflection
entertainment venue light effects
etc, there are so many

we already have knives
>Compact Disks
outdated and worse than pen drives
>structural alignment and deflection
I don't even know what you mean by that
>entertainment venue light effects
so they are literally used to impress the masses so that they say "wow lasers are so cool" but they have no real aplications
>etc
etc is not an use, you name everything that could sound like an use and now that there aren't any uses left you say etc no make it sound like there are more. fuck off

Ok anon I’m the biggest science denier here and a victim of the dunning Kruger but even I got to intervene here and just admit that you’re wrong.
Lasers have many uses from telecommunications, war fighting, construction, engraving etc.
Show some humility.

I may also add that I’m still a victim of the dunning Kruger but I learned in electrical engineering the atomic clocks that use lasers create a method of time-transfer
For example when your driving down the road and making a call the cell phone radio can perform a signal handoff to the tower your approaching with precision so your call doesn’t drop.
Also atomic clocks create computational synchronization which allows computers to transfer data and communicate.
OUR WHOLE MODERN SOCIETY EXISTS BECAUSE OF A FUCKING LASER ANON!!!!

man, I had lasers pointed to my body and nothing happened. If it were a knife, I would have gotten serious injuries. Lasers aren't that dangerous
