๐Ÿงต Born too early

Anonymous No. 16253017

We are living in the age of speculation regarding space travel. We will never see extraterrestrial colonies established. Massive space stations built throughout the Solar System. Generational space travel beyond the stars. We were born too early to see any of that. If we are lucky, we might see Moon/asteroid mining stations or a round trip to Mars, but nothing spectacular. Every day at work I fantasize in my head about travelling to distant celestial bodies. For eight hours, every day, I play out every minute detail, using all the instruments, crew members passing away on long trips, doing experiments etc. and it just hurts me more and more. Today, I went on a trip to Proxima b with my ideal qt girlfriend to perform experiments there before relaying the results back to Earth and passing away there. We were in cryosleep for nearly 40 years and I had to give her the rescue breath after awaking. There are live cameras, so Earth can see what is going on 3-4 years later. Nothing like this will happen in my lifetime, and that upsets me greatly. More than the thought of my family members passing away. Does anyone else feel the same?
