Without mentioning orbital rings or space elevators, what are some global infrastructure projects to propel us into a brighter future?

Sky Hook which is a low tech and much more simple idea than a Space Elevator which will never work. We can build a Sky Hook system today with current technology and rockets. It would take a huge effort with most if not the whole world working together but if they did I estimate it would take 10-15 years to start lifting cargo off space planes with the hook and take it into orbit.

You can't explore space WITHOUT dedicated Crust(Terra) to Orbit(Terra) infrastructure. Think of the steam train and the tracks built to fuel the industrial revolution. No train, no revolution. The same is true for space and when you examine all the options for infrastructure Sky Hook stands out as the correct solution, in my opinion. Once even one Sky Hook station is in operation it can mass spam people and materials into orbit for better infrastructure, orbital ring, and extensive space stations to include rotating ones with gravity. There is not other solution and anyone who argues this with me 100% of the time fails to prove me wrong in any way. Don't take my word for it, do your own research.

I think the biggest one would be fusion reactors. If we spent 10x the amount we are spending on them today, our world would change a lot in question of years

Rest the rim of your nostril on my hole and think gracefully so your face changes posture ever so slightly as to receive my fart with a little sniff, then push your tip into the fabric of my anus while biting my anal bush claiming 'master, I knew of this moment - that it would come to me'

You may as well tell me how I communicate to you. Right now it's personal biosphere(how it's just your experience and most are converted into presences in your bubble) - advanced brain (super brain, but even more than that, the next level)- and the most comfortable understood process involved with this(like you have to focus on biosphere first)

ive been kind of obsessed with these huge projects.
like the interstate highway grid. which required so much coordination and cooperation. for all its potholes and i-5 traffic the insterstate highway system is the usa crowning achievement. so many things like hoover dam, and a bunch of bridges come along with it too.
i mean its probably cheaper and safer to ship or fly over oceans, but a global transportation system would be cool.
like a snowpiercer of hyperloop that goes around the globe.

the second project i heard about was the black hole image, and gravitational lensing. they turned the whole world into a telescope.
other science projects like the iss and cern too which required coordination between countries. i dont know why you would need a particle accelerator that encapsulates the entire planet though. but perhaps there is some sort of tool we could fashion that would be useful to us.

Continuing to deny China and other authoritarian shitholes access to advanced chipmaking technology. In general, exploiting the West's lead over the shitholes to bring them in line.

Obviously you have to match speed with the tether. That's a given.
It's also a given that at some point, a pilot (or an automated docking system) will fuck up and their intercept vehicle will be torn apart by aerodynamic forces.

low cost high speed tunneling, it will give us access to a lot ressources and make us new living space. we could multiply the amount of available living space if we dig it underground and its probably cheaper to create per volume than creating it by space colonsation.
