It was thought to be Earth-like and inhabited at first, and then we landed on it in the 1970s, and it was the hellhole that we now know it to be, and that was also about the same time that people were first starting to come up with the idea of global warming, so obviously the two are connected. what do they mean was Earth-like? It is Earth-like: it's about the same size as Earth, has about the same mass a Earth, has a solid surface, just like Earth. Some other things aren't like Earth, obviously.

If Earth had enough available carbon to create a true runaway greenhouse atmosphere, it would have happened during the great dying when Earth threw basically everything it had in to the atmosphere AND burned all the plantlife AND most biomass died off and released its carbon in to the atmosphere as it burned/rotted
Anonymous at Sun, 30 Jun 2024 15:14:11 UTC No. 16261191
Most carbon is fixed as carbonates, that's why the Earth atmosphere is so "poor" in CO2, Venus simply don't have enough hydrogen to be similar and the surface temperature makes carbonates too unstable.
Hydrogen is needed to fix carbon as carbonates (rock weathering, dissolved in water).
The carbon distribution of the Earth is something like: 99.8% as carbonates (crust, mantle), 0.2% as CO2 and fossil fuels
That 0.2% (~40 Teratons) is: 40.000 GT as dissolved CO2 in the ocean, 4000GT as hydrocarbons/coal/peat, 700GT as atmospheric CO2. The oceans store 50-60 times more CO2 than the atmosphere.
Altering the surface temperature will change the solubility of CO2 in water. Climate have a lot of positive feedbacks that makes it hard to predict.

Strong evidential modeling shows that Venus uses to have nearly identical earth atmosphere, indicating life used to exist (this is known from photographic fossil records of Venus), carbon dated to 3 billion years ago using nuclear reflective imagery. Shine a laser on the fossil, it reflects, and you can back propagate how much carbon it reflected off of. There's also evidence in the evolution of the atmosphere from the fossil records. We saw a rapid increase in the carbon rate in the atmosphere and modeling proved that the climate change on Venus was caused by the life there.

The fact that intelligent life developed on Venus, invented coal mining and the petroleum industry and then went extinct because of it proves that its impossible to prevent the death of all life on Earth from global warming. The Venusians certainly would have prevented their own demise if it were possible to do so, but they tried everything they could and it simply isn't possible.

Hyperaccelerated climate change bombs, they're banned by intergalactic treaties. The punitive response to this violation is what led to the fall of the Terran empire and the diminished state humanity finds itself in today.

The change of Velikovsky being right about Venus are much higher the theory from the OP.
Velikovsky used the scientific method very well and used his theory to make predictions later proven to be correct, despite disagreeing with the viewpoints at the time.
The fallout that followed the release of his book shows the complete failure of academia in the face alternate theories. The parallels with today's climate science are obvious.

As far as we know, Venus never fully developed plate tectonics as it never cooled down fast enough to crack apart the crust. Scientists surmise that this lack of geography is part of the main reason why Venus suffered from a runaway greenhouse effect, as it doomed the planet to catastrophic global resurfacing events where the planet would essentially fissure open. The 80,000 or so volcanos also seem to indicate a shit ton of fumes building up in the air even with the atmosphere-stripping solar wind, which would only blow away light particles like hydrogen (which may very well have been present and only worsened the effect, with the remaining hydrogen/water binding into sulfuric acid).
>>16260503
All of that hydrogen has been either stripped off by solar wind due to the lack of an appreciable magnetosphere or has bounded into sulfuric acid.

>hydrogen has been either stripped off by solar wind
And yet its atmosphere is orders of magnitude richer in Helium than Earth.
Has anyone studied the isotopes ratios of its atmosphere to find out how much the solar wind influenced its current state and how much the geology/early loss of atmosphere influenced it?
Maybe removing the most of the early atmosphere is a requirement to make a planet like Earth cool quickly to be habitable.

i dont think so. The only things earthlike about venus is the diameter and mass. If it used to be earth-like, that implies liquid water that eventually dried up due to heat. However, venus' atmosphere is almost exclusively CO2. It rains sulfuric acid H2SO4 and snows Lead Sulfate PbSO4. There's no apparent water on the planet, vapor or otherwise.
TL;DR the WEF is full of shit.

"White" is a class, as in you don't work in a field and develop a tan. Europeans are a race, as in the general people who evolved to the conditions of a part of the world before civilization greatly reduced mortality rates of people not adapted to the land and allowed for mixing with people adapted for another region of the earth.
These guys were not racist but classist. But some races are always dark skinned so they see them as a race that is of a lower laboring class. Races are about nature and history. Classes are about haves and have nots and luxury vs labor.

>Europeans are a race, as in the general people who evolved to the conditions of a part of the world
You can be more exact than general regions of the earth. But then the more you are getting into culture, deliberate breeding, and the effects of civilization on the group's natural limitations.
Generally what your prehistoric ancestors were selected for is your race. For example asians have flat faces to resist the cold wind. Sub Saharans have black skin to resist the sun. Europeans are pale for vitamin d. Eskimos have fat stores for heat. Selection before civilization is a race. Anything produced from the comfort of civilization is a domestication of some kind, even if just for better warriors, and a class issue. Like how you select for fatter chickens or a bigger yield on crops.
Trying to see where natural selection ends and domestication begins is tricky though in the twilight zone between them.
