Wouldn't a cure for dementia also have the effect of making people without dementia more intelligent? Wouldn't a cure for dementia involve a drug that increases the formation of neurons and synapses between them? A drug that would slow down neurodegeneration would help slow down dementia, but it wouldn't be a cure for it.

I also bet this drug could have extreme side effects, in a similar sense to steroids. A moderate steroid cycle or two could give you massive gains in a short amount of time (that are still within natty territory), but too much would really fuck up your body. Too much use of this drug could likely result in the formation of various mental illnesses, negating whatever positive effects you got from it.

And you think that alone means higher intelligence?
Dementia is about something not working properly, repairing the broken mechanism doesn't mean improving it.
About the movie I like the fact the first thing he does with his improved intelligence is fucking a hot asian chick.

I was actually worried about someone spoiling a part of this movie for me. By the way, Lawnmower Man has something similar. I actually wish it wasn't a horror movie, and that he just ended up being a super genius who achieves greatness.
