There is slight correlation on income.

Only because of retards dragging it down. Remove the fat tail and any correlation becomes insignificant.

Anonymous No. 16268766

hey, what happens if we take a 95% and fit a trnd line?
oh gee wiz we get a strong correlation between iq and income that is not quite clear in the raw data who'd a think it

Why must that seething arab manipulate the data?

Because Nassim Taleb is a grifter and a fraud who fakes data in order to advance his agenda. Picrel shows a clear positive correlation between IQ and profession, with lower paying professions at the top and higher paying professions at the bottom. IQ is destiny.

at the 2 regulation peaks
agriculture - mass scale, subsidies, government interest
black market or grey areas - jimmy rustling the local area demand for fence welding, miguel doing gardening work, jessica busting her ass off as a hair stylist and popping xanax because its exhausting

I wish more people would admit this. That way the conversation wouldn't be so disegenious all the time.

>medical
I'm tapping the chart again to remind everyone why the medical field gets paid alot. If the supply of professionals wasn't artificially restricted by both the government and colleges, the pay would be lower because of the population demand. This means a thumb on the scale has been placed.

IQ isn't destiny, economics is a game constantly being manipulated. You think it's destiny because you don't bother to ask why the layout of the land is such.

When I was in high school they made us look at a detailed graph comparing job wages and work hours. I crunched the numbers and realized almost every job's hourly wage was within a few dollars of each other. A doctor made the same amount per hour as a trucker, etc. It completely destroyed my willpower to do anything.

A few people are plain lucky, but 90% of the time veing rich requires ambition and a willingness to manipulate and/or hurt other people. Noboby gets wealthy without a few skeletons in their closet.

It's objectively better to be intelligent and educated enough while also being highly personable (consider the MBAs lording over all of the STEM PhDs at many companies), but there is definitely a strong correlation between raw intelligence and income in my own experience.

This. A "free market" can only be a fair meritocracy if everyone is born at the same time, in the same place, with the same resources and opportunities.
A manager might hook up a friend with a job before hiring a more-qualified person because people value emotional trust over merit.

Now how much of that net worth is housing or 401k compared to raw savings anon?

I can tell you my net worth is over $300,000 but if the majority of that net worth is generated by processes like financial advisory groups involved in stock market investments that I am not actively participating in or generated by housing which is rapid reduction of non-occupied land + zoning laws restricting open building in busy work areas. How much is that directly related to IQ? The former deals with placing faith into unknown forces entrusted by typically the company you work at to "do the work" for you, while the latter is allowing time and laws to "do the work" for you.

Pic related shows the savings rate for people. This data is why shit like only 44% of people in the us can deal with +$1000 emergencies and how so many people are getting shut out of the housing market.

It's both, you should be proud that despite working in a lower wage bracket you have more dedication and awareness to place yourself in a position to save more than most of your peers.

But you should grieve that your generation has been put into a more complex situation. One where the requirement for debt management is hard to avoid since it is present in most of the major milestones in life, be it for transportation for work/food, higher education or housing.

Previous generations didn't need to worry about taking on 30yr mortgages for $300-400k homes. Nor did previous generations didn't need to worry about spending an extra 4-8yrs of their life in a secondary institution to have a viable living and thus highly likely delay having a family.
