How'd you get into Cambridge? Asking as a Canadian who doesn't know anything about your system.

Also, if anyone else here does rf/em research, what was your path? It is an extremely uncommon specialty and I intend to do postgrad, hopefully a PhD, maybe move more in the metrology/measurement science direction, but there seems to be like zero money there outside of the hybrid signal space grift that I don't even think will last.

I wanted to get into RF but I am stuck in a job in control systems. Was RF worth it?

Anonymous No. 16271774

Not sure as I am only in my first year of actually doing RF (usually third year of UG). I am here because I wanted to get into RF from the very start and it has worked out as planned. I do really love what I am learning so far even if it will mean I am stuck going down this path. I really love antenna shit, but also DSP. Do you think you could refresh for a masters if you have a bsee? People in this field generally care way more about postgrad than other EE fields from what I can tell because you barely learn EM/RF in UG.

Also I should add that a lot of RF companies are PhD REQUIRED and many of the highest paying companies require you to live in ultra high cost of living while only paying a bit above 200k to PhD freshers at the moment. Don't get into this field if it is all about the money for you, if anything focus on SDR type purely digital shit for $$$.
