๐งต Overcoming the Fear of Not Being Extraordinary

I know I am not going to rise above the rest. Of course, I don't put in the hours; I don't fight and struggle while no one is watching, nor do I have the confidence to believe that I could be extraordinary. However, despite that, I still feel a sense of dread. I'll just come and go, with no great works, no lifelong devotion, and no adversary to fight or become a marauder to. Some nights, I say to myself, "Starting tomorrow, I will let nothing stop me. I will devote my life to (x)." But when I wake up that same "tomorrow," all I think is, "Why would you do that? Just live a normal life and let the truly great people be great." This mentality I have in the morning lets me know that "greatness" is not running through my blood. So, I ask, how do I become content with not being great? Or should I just have no love life, no money, and devote myself to an area of science that I'm interested in, with the great hope of becoming a footnote in some obscure textbook?

if you want to be great you have to be outcast and different from social norms.
you have to break rules.
lot of people will bully you, laugh at you but you still need consistency in your work.
hard work, iterations, patience, practice is needed to be great.
you need communicate your ideas, theories properly.
all you are thinking of is "i wanna be great" you are just a wanna be.
the true "great" don't care if they are great or not, they care about their work and goals.
the people who are cringe by 4chan and so called internet people standard are the great, unironically, brootal truth.

You think Einstein was "grinding" or "putting in the work"? He always did what seemed right or fun. Thats exactly what you need to do. Whether you become "Extraordinary" or famous on the way is not for you to decide.
Let it happen.

Obviously, you have not found anything you want to devote your life to. You can't force this. This is probably a sign you are not on the right track with your life.

To be extraordinary is to be lonely, fundamentally and on an ontological level. If you were extraordinary, it would feel like an unfair burden that you are obliged to carry.
