But I don't think that this outbreak was intentional. I actually buy the theory of the lab employee selling dead test animals on a wet market, encapsulates everything wrong with Chinese culture.
Maybe you remember the early pictures from Wuhan and the absolute force China used to lock down their citizens. My guess is that more than one virus made it out of that lab, and that a lot of people actually died in wuhan from much more lethal strains that the ccp managed to keep in containment.
Why would they release a bioweapon in their own country? Why choose Sars? And why not release it in autumn? If your shizo take would be true they would have released the virus much more sneakily. They could have flown under the radar while everyone has their common cold. And they would have reduced the lethality to late covid levels.

And the point being? Everything Beijing did was to maximize the spread outside its borders, since the virus is most effective against non-Chinese anyway, why would they suddenly give a shit about the health of Chinese after frequent mass killing campaigns that resulted in tens of millions of deaths, intentionally. They even, early on, ensured to maximize outbound flights while shuttering domestic travel, using its infected citizens as viral vectors. Made a killing selling fake and filthy PPE, and so on, the list of red flags is literally endless at this point.
