Have you taken any MitX courses? What is the quality of them in your experience?
For those who have taken em and later applied to MIT or any associated College, did taking em impact the evaluation of your application?
I want to study fluid mechanics, but then remembered the offer courses on the subject. My plan is to study some more on my own and once I have a decent grasp of the subject, enroll in their courses.

Yes, I took 16.00x, intro to aerospace engineering. I was in high school at the time and iirc it took me about 2 months to complete with bursts of effort here and there.
The professor teaching it was Jeffrey Hoffman, a retired astronaut which I thought was pretty cool. The quizzes/problems were a fair difficulty level, and I felt like I got a good overview of aerospace eng out of it.
The resources used in the course were a mix of publicly available materials from NASA’s Glenn research center and some other sources. The videos were all well made. Overall it was high quality.
When I took them, I was planning on majoring in aerospace engineering in college, but I ended up applying for physics. I didn’t apply to MIT, but I got into Purdue - I don’t think it had a big impact on my application but there’s no way to tell.
As for it helping you get into MIT, I think it might. MIT’s main campus and admin seem to have embraced MITx. I know that there is a pathway for people who take their management classes on EdX to eventually get into MIT… “Micromasters” or something…

No, but if their videos are anything to go by you're looking at 150+ hours of the most obtuse proof-based lectures that teach absolutely nothing and could've been done in 10.
