olderfag here, since question for the group. I was a dipshit kid in the 90s and got an engineering degree, but ended up in computers instead. All I remember from my stem classes is memorize this- memorize that. Now I'm in my 50s and I have a genuine interest in science. Considering that AI is taking over computer work what direction would you point me in in scientific endeavors, perhaps the engineering side of science, that would have the most opportunity? Thanks much.

Use AI to discover fraud in academic publishing, use what you learn to blackmail the authors.

Um, I will say materials engineering. I studied electrical, but most applications really come down to materials/chem. The circuits are just all physics.
